CABINET REFINISHING

CABINET REFINISHING

Our 8-step cabinet refinishing process consistently delivers an elegant factory finish. Our streamlined process enables us to adhere to timelines, maintain good communication at every step of the way, and produce superb results. At ProCoat Painting, we’re obsessed with offering an amazing experience that you’ll be glad to tell your friends about!

  • STEP 1

On day one, our crew will come to your home to remove the kitchen cabinet doors and drawer faces prior to painting the boxes. We will transport these doors into our portable, dust-free, vacuum-fed spray booth. We may also take them off-site to our spray shop, depending on customer preference.

  • STEP 2

Same day, we will start prepping the space and the boxes. This includes masking off the floors, walls, ceilings, appliances, and the inside of the cabinets. We build a plastic bubble around the kitchen to prevent any dust and overspray from entering the rest of the house.

  • STEP 3

When preparing all the surfaces, we clean and degrease first, this removes any unwanted contaminants from getting pushed further into the grain of the wood when we start sanding. Our first sand starts with a 220-grit paper to remove any of the old lacquer sheen from the wood.

  • STEP 4

After cleaning and sanding, we put on a coat of primer which is either tinted light or dark, depending on the final color. After the primer, we then fill any holes and scratches on the front surface of the doors and boxes.

  • STEP 5

We then look for any final imperfections. We use a 4,500-lumen LED light bar for surface inspection. The perfectly smooth LED beam quality and low-level illumination make defects 10X more visible. Once we have finished all that prep work, we are finally ready to start the first coat of the final color.

  • STEP 6

The final two coats of finish paint are Italian-based Premium Urethane called Renner Wood Coatings. This product is a two-component topcoat using an added catalyst for increased chemical resistance and superior durability compared to standard paints.

  • STEP 7

Once everything has been painted, it is now time to take down all the plastic, paper, tape, and other materials we use to protect your kitchen. We then do a quick clean and get your kitchen back together.

  • STEP 8

Our final step is to re-hang the cabinet doors. We will do a final inspection of all the surfaces to look for any potential final touch-ups before we finalize the job.

BUILDING OUR BUSINESS ON TRUST AND RELATIONSHIPS

  • Brandon S.

    ★★★★★

After reaching out to several local contractors with no response, Bill answered the phone and the rest is history! #1, he is friendly, personable and cares about his work. #2, he does great work and is upfront and honest and #3, he charges a fair price! After the sale of our home & purchase of our new home, we enlisted Bill's services again for a rather large interior paint job.

    ★★★★★

Bill was quick to respond. Communicates well and sets expectations and keeps them. He takes pride in his work and pays attention to all the little details. He noticed the problem with why our walls kept popping and adjusted the materials he would use. You will not be sorry you hired Bill Rossi. He is reasonable and fair in his rates and easy to work with. I could not give a higher recommendation!
